Disney + is betting heavily on Star Wars and they are currently releasing the second season of The Mandalorian that impacts fans in each episode. But they are also preparing the Kenobi and Cassian Andor series.
But if that were not enough, they will also make an animation series about the High Republic . A period of time that they are exploiting with books and comics. If this Star Wars show succeeds , there are also plans to do a live-action series.
What will this new series be about?
For now there are very few details, but we know that it is set 200 years before the movie Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Therefore, of all those characters that we have seen in the movies, there is only Yoda. That time is when the Jedi are at their peak, as they are guardians of peace and harmony in the galaxy. Therefore, the stories are about heroes who must learn to use their powers in different situations without turning to the dark side of the Force.
This period of time has a lot of potential, since it will be very different from the Star Wars series that we have mentioned before, since in those times, the republic is either in clear decline as in Cassian Andor , or the Empire is at the top as in Kenobi or the New and corrupt New Republic is prevailing at the same time that the First Order threatens in the shadows as in The Mandalorian.
It has not yet been specified whether the High Republic Star Wars series will be with traditional or 3D animation, but hopefully the stories will be as interesting as in The Clone Wars and Rebels.
