EYE!! Could we see Alfred Molina reprise the role of Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 3?
According to GWW, the British actor was recently spotted on set practicing stunt choreography and has been filming scenes as Doctor Octopus for the past few weeks. They don’t know if Alfred Molina will play the same Otto Octavius from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, or an entirely new version of the iconic wall-crawler villain.
And what are the chances of this happening? This third Spider-Man movie seems to be set to introduce some elements of Spider-man’s Multiverse so it would make sense to bring back one of the spider’s most popular big-screen enemies, but this rumor just like the one. The rest that has been happening throughout the production of the third installment of our friend and neighbor could be more speculation than an irrefutable fact.
Since the return of J. K Simmons as JJ Jameson in Far From Home and the announcement of the signing of Jamie Foxx as Electro, various outlets (many of them disreputable) have been publishing “scoops” on other characters from previous films, including Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man.
There may be some truth to this information, but at the moment Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have not made any official announcement even though the film is already in full swing.
Would you like to see Alfred Molina again as Doctor Octopus?
