The time is getting closer for Disney to confirm that it will make Alita: Battle Angel 2, either in film or series format.
The original film was released in 2019 to mixed reviews and a worldwide gross of $ 404 million. It has been speculated for some time that they could make a sequel, but since Disney bought FOX it stopped any possibility of making Alita: Battle Angel 2. Although over time, they are thinking of continuing the story as they continue to believe that it has great potential.
Now the new information ensures that the sequel will be expected thanks to Star Wars and the Mandalorian series. Since the director of the first film, Robert Rodriguez, also participated in shooting an episode of the bounty hunter series and will also be in charge of the series of The Book of Boba Fett.
So Robert Rodriguez and Disney’s relationship is currently at its best. That is why they have started talks to make Alita: Battle Angel 2, based on the successful manga and produced by James Cameron. So far they have not signed anything, but the sequel is closer to happening than ever.
Movie or series?
Alita: Battle Angel 2 could be a movie, but it could also be a Disney + series. Since they are thinking of shooting it with the incredible technology of The Mandalorian and thus being able to better develop the entire story in 8 or 10 chapters.
