Disney has always provided us with the best-animated films of all types. They first started with hand-drawn animations then moved on to 3-D animation and now are remaking their most iconic movies with the help of live-action animation.

From our trusted sources we have come to know that Barry Jenkins, who has won the Oscars for the film ‘Moonlight’, has been finalized by the Disney studio to direct the ‘The Lion King’s’ sequel.
The movie will be made with the use of life action animation, as it is done in ‘The Lion King’ (2019) and ‘The Jungle Book’. Barry has even completed the first draft of the script for the sequel.
There is no official statement on the release date or date of starting the production for the film but it is expected that things will happen soon, as the 2019 film did very well at the box office worldwide.
The last film grossed a whopping 1.6 billion dollars. As to the plot, it is believed that the story may go back in time and explore the upbringing of Mufasa, Simba’s father. Even Barry has kept this sequel in his priority list.
He is very excited to do this project as he can relate to the love shown in ‘The Lion King’. He says he will love to explore the many mysteries, the mysteries of the local folk, in Africa through this film.
The fans had loved the 2019 movie and are now excited for the sequel. Fans had said that the live action animations used in the 2019 movie kindles a new type of magic to the well-known Disney tale.
