Star Wars continues to expand its cinematic universe and they have confirmed that Darth Vader will be in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
During Disney’s Investor Day, a lot of information has been given about LucasFilm’s plans for Star Wars and more specifically it has been revealed that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will feature the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. Now, we have some new details about the role the famous Sith Lord is slated to play in the series along with a lot of other information about the Disney + show.
Director Deborah Chow says that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. A galaxy is a dangerous place, and for the protagonist, “it is not safe. ” Why? The answer is simple, there are “Jedi hunters out there. ” Star Ewan McGregor, meanwhile, notes that Obi-Wan has “one task” left to do and that is “to keep Luke Skywalker safe and secret” so that Darth Vader doesn’t find out.
We will see different Jedi.
Meanwhile, the concept art revealed an unnamed Jedi defending a trio of Padawans from Anakin Skywalker in the Jedi Temple, so Hayden Christensen will likely play Darth Vader shortly after Palpatine gave him that Sith name. Perhaps they may even tell us how Gorge, the character from The Mandalorian whom we all know as Baby Yoda, survived.
Deborah Chow also shared some illustrations of Darth Vader sitting on a throne while communicating with someone through a hologram, while confirming that “we will definitely see Obi-Wan and Darth Vader face off against each other. ” McGregor adds: “ It will be amazing to bring those characters back together, in a very unexpected way. Having another hit on each other could be quite satisfying for everyone. ”
Their respective red and blue lightsabers were shown colliding, so clearly something is going to happen that leads Obi-Wan and Darth Vader to cross paths with their former master before finishing him off in Star Wars: A New Hope.
