Games are taking over the screens. Dragons and Dungeons will have a new movie, and Chris Pine could be its protagonist.
Dungeons and Dragons is a popular role-playing game set in a fantastic environment full of creatures, wars, and other trials. As announced, it will have a new film adaptation and could star Chris Pine. The actor is recognized worldwide for having starred in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek, where he played the legendary Captain James T. Kirk and in recent years was part of the successful Wonder Woman. Apparently, the interpreter is in negotiations with Paramount to star in this film that will combine adventure and fantasy, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
It is already confirmed that behind the cameras will be the director’s John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who also wrote the latest version of the script from a previous draft by Michael Gilio. The plot of the new Dungeons and Dragons movie is still unknown, but based on what we know about the role-playing game, we can guess what we might find: elves, orcs, and other creatures, on the one hand, and on the other, humans in the search for treasures and rewards as they face wars and other difficult trials. It is played with multi-sided dice and the game is supervised by a host, the Dungeon Master.
Whom will we see in the movie?
Not many details about this Dungeons and Dragons movie are yet known, much less its full cast. At the time, it had been announced that Ansel Elgort was in talks to star in it. The actor was the first choice when the rights to the adaptation were on the warpath by several studios, a battle that was ultimately won by Paramount.
But now, according to new rumors, the new face that will be in charge of this film adaptation will be Chris Pine.
