Guy Ritchie fans may be in for a treat now: The filmmaker has given a first look at his next project, starring Jason Statham and Aubrey Plaza.
Ritchie shared a short video of the cast and crew while filming #UntitledGuyRitchieFilm on his Instagram account, revealing that the first week of production in Doha was over and the crew had changed locations.
” Week two, Turkey. (Week one was Doha). Some old friends and some new ones on set, ” Guy wrote, pointing to Statham, Plaza, Bugzy Malone and Cary Elwes in the post.
Although the director insists that his latest film is still untitled, from what we have seen, it appears that filming is underway on the title previously known as ‘Five Eyes’, a spy thriller starring Statham as a secret agent.
Announced last year, ‘Five Eyes’ is set to follow Statham’s MI6 operative as he is recruited by a global intelligence organization called Five Eyes and on a mission to infiltrate a weapons broker to stop the sale of technology from new and deadly weapons.
Earlier this month it was also revealed that Hugh Grant was joining the cast, which the filmmaker already knows from having worked on another of his films, ‘The Gentlemen: The Mafia Lords’.
On Ritchie and Statham’s fifth project together, the STX distributor said it was ” exciting ” to get back in business with the couple. ” Jason is a global box office heavyweight, and when paired with Guy Ritchie, he’s an irresistible combination,” President Adam Fogelson said in a statement. ” It’s exciting to be back in business with Guy, Bill (Block) and the Miramax team after our shared success on ‘The Gentlemen’ and we think Five Eyes is the kind of movie our partners overseas will love. as much as us. “
