They were Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Since each had a way of admitting and selecting students, they decided to build four houses to select new talent. Something that can be seen perfectly in the hat scene in the first Harry Potter movie.
They will be able to reconnect the original cast of Harry Potter movies and create new stories with the old characters. For now, though, it seems that these plans are to see other times and other different magicians. Because it gives them more creative freedom.
