It was long ago revealed that Game of Thrones would have a spin-off called House of the Dragon. After a long time, the first images finally came to light.

Although many hated the ending, Game of Thrones was a worldwide phenomenon. So much so, that HBO decided to continue betting on projects linked to the novels created by George RR Martin. After the Naomi Watts prequel was canceled, the studio did give the green light to House of the Dragon, a spin-off that has already presented its first images.

Jason Kilar, CEO of WarnerMedia, published in an official blog a long notice about the next steps that his platforms and projects will take, both in film and on television. The statement explains how the next releases of his films will be made, including Wonder Woman 1984, which will be put in movie theaters and streaming platforms alike and as a clear consequence of the times, we live in. To finish his statement, Kilar took the opportunity to reveal a clue about House of the Dragon: “PS The filming of the Game of Thrones series, House of the Dragon, will begin in a couple of months. Watch out for dragons on high! ”.

What is known about the series?

The truth is that very little is known. But what we are sure of is that this spin-off will attract a large audience as it will focus on telling the story of the enigmatic Targaryen family. Both in the novels and in the series created by David Benioff and DB Weiss, the line and story of these characters are the darkest of all.

House of the Dragon is based on the book Fire & Blood and the official synopsis reveals that it will be located about 300 years from what we saw in Game of Thrones and will tell how King Viserys Targaryen is chosen to rule by the lords of Westeros to replace the old Jaehaerys Targaryen. Very, who will be played by Paddy Considine, will discover that being a good and decent person doesn’t necessarily make him a great ruler.
