High on K-Dramas? This one is it for you!
After the Korean film Parasite’s massive success and the K-Pop industry seeping into the mainstream, it was only a matter of time when K-Dramas would grab the attention of fans worldwide.
Among the many brilliant dramas to have captured the heart and attention of fans all around, Hyena is one of them. After its successful first run, fans are already anxious to know more about the story and whether a second season is in the works.
Season 2:
Most Korean dramas follow a 16-episode or 20-episode series. There are very few dramas that follow up with a second season.
Hyena follows two predatory lawyers who represent the top 1% high-class society and are willing to go to any heights to win the case. After its 16th episode finale, with some strings left unclear, fans expect there could be a second season in the works.
Since the drama first came on February 21, 2020, and wrapped up with the last episode on April 11, 2020, it still is too early to tell if the show would receive a renewal. However, we wouldn’t completely dismiss the idea that the show wouldn’t receive a green light considering the high ratings and positive reviews from critics and audience alike.
Hyena was nominated for 5 Baeksang Arts Awards including Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Screenplay. The Baeksang Arts Awards is one of the most prestigious awards shows in South Korea.
