Among all the novelties that Disney presented, Indiana Jones 5 is one of them. The movie is reportedly already in pre-production.
Disney yesterday launched a chain of announcements and confirmations of future projects for its Disney + platform. During the virtual presentation, Disney executives confirmed that Indiana Jones 5 is almost a reality. The fifth installment will arrive in 2022 and luckily for the fans, it will again feature the star of Harrison Ford.
At 78, the actor will carry the whip of the legendary adventurer and it is thought that this could be the last time. One last adventure for his character from Indiana with which the saga that began in the 80s will close. The film is already in the pre-production phase and the announcement was accompanied by the confirmation of its director: James Mangold. He will be behind the scenes taking on the difficult task of taking over from Steven Spielberg, who was in charge of the previous films.
Long ago it was rumored that said director was going to supplant Spielberg, who previously was part of Indiana Jones 5, and that for a number of reasons he decided to step aside and not occupy the famous director’s chair.
An iconic movie…
In 1981, by the hand of Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Lawrence Kasdan, the audience met the character of Indiana Jones with Indiana Jones in search of the Lost Ark. The 1980s ended with two more installments, composing a trilogy: 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and 1989’s Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Almost two decades, the duo returned with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull released in 2008. After fourteen years, Harrison Ford will bring that character back to life in Indiana Jones 5. This film is expected to arrive in July 2022 marking the end of an era.
