After sweeping ‘ The Undoing ‘, starring Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman, HBO Spain will once again bet on a suspense story led by a great Hollywood star: Kate Winslet.
Kate Elizabeth Winslet (born October 5, 1975) is an English actress. She is especially known for her work in historical dramas and often portrays angst-ridden women. Winslet is a recipient of various awards, including three British Academy Film Awards, and is one of the few artists to receive an Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award.
Winslet’s first screen appearance at the age of 15, in the British television series Dark Season (1991). She made her film debut in Heavenly Creatures (1994) as a teenage killer. World fame came soon after her starring role in the epic romance Titanic (1997). It was the highest-grossing film.
Comprised of seven episodes, ‘ Mare of Easttown ‘ follows the investigations of Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective, who has to uncover the truth behind a murder as life crumbles around her. From the platform, they define it as “an exploration of the dark side of a united community and a review of how family and the tragedies of the past can define our present. “
Created by Brad Ingelsby (‘The Way Back’) and directed by Craig Zobel (‘The Leftovers’), the miniseries also stars Julianne Nicholson (‘The Visitor’) as Mare’s childhood best friend, Jean. Smart (‘Watchmen’) as Mare’s mother, Angourie Rice (‘Black Mirror’) as Mare’s teenage daughter, Evan Peters (‘American Horror Story’) as the detective who will help with Mare’s investigation, and Guy Pearce like the local teacher of creative writing. Pearce reunites with Winslet a decade after the miniseries ‘Mildred Pierce’,
