We compiled all the known facts about Tolkien’s new foray into the world with Amazon Prime Video’s ‘ Lord of the Rings ‘, a gigantic project that could become the most expensive series ever.
Amazon Studios wants a great series from which various secondary proposals can come out as a spin-off. At first, it seemed clear that his intention was to bet everything on two seasons to use as a basis for the rest but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the initial deal consists of five seasons, either of an initial series or belonging to different stories about the JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth.
Markella Kavenagh was the first confirmed name for the cast. The Australian, who appears credited to play a character named Tyra, has participated in series such as ‘ Romper Stomper ‘, ‘ The Mystery of Hanging Rock ‘ and ‘ The Cry ‘. Nothing else has emerged about who will be the mysterious Tyra.
In early 2020, the first big list of confirmed names to join Kavanagh arrived: Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Joseph Mawle, Tyrone Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman.
On December 3, Amazon released a new statement confirming up to twenty new names of performers.

Talented artists from all over the world mark the pinnacle of a multi-year quest to find brilliant and unique artists to bring this universe to life. .new, ”said JD Payne and Patrick McKay, series runners and executive producers. “The international cast of the Amazon Original Lord of the Rings series is more than just a cast. It is a family. We are excited to welcome each of them to Middle Earth.”
Due to the coronavirus crisis, filming has been delayed until July 2020, so the possible premiere in 2021 is again in danger. Let’s say in 2022, if everything calms down a bit, we should go back to dreaming of fantasy worlds.
