Mortal Kombat Movie Release Date Confirmed!


Mortal Kombat will return to the big screen again with a new movie. Finally, the premiere date was revealed.

Mortal Kombat, the well-known video game franchise, will have a new film adaptation next year in the form of a reboot. In this way, it will be the third attempt of this saga in theaters after the versions of 1995 and 1997. After the announcement of Warner Bros, which will release films simultaneously in the cinema and HBO, the film will reach both places and we already know its release date.

After a new poster published by Todd Garner, producer of the film, we learned that the Mortal Kombat film will arrive on April 16. In addition to this information, he also took the opportunity to anticipate that we would soon see the first trailer of the film, which will arrive entering 2021. Simon McQuoid directs the project from a script written by Greg Russo. Also in production will be the famous director and producer of many horror films such as Saw or Insidious, James Wan.

The cast of this Mortal Kombat reboot is made up of Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Ludi Lin in the role of Shaolin monk Liu Kang, Tadanobu Asano giving life to the leader and protector Raiden, organizer of the tournament that gives its name to the title. They are also accompanied by important characters such as the ninja Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) or the old sorcerer Shang Tsun (Chin Han).

At the moment no details about the plot are known, but it will take the story of the video game of Raiden and the heroes of Earth, reunited before the danger to the planet posed by the Outer World. They can only defeat the forces of evil together in the Mortal Kombat tournament.
