News is an essential part of our lives. It is something that keeps us connected to the entire world. We view news in its many forms be it the newspapers, magazines, or the news sites.
In bringing the news to us, reporters and journalists work very hard and often risk their own lives just to ensure that correct and authentic information reaches us. Authentic information is always at risk of being manipulated by the powerful.
At times things so crucial can come up through news that the people in power fear it and this fear sadly, at times leads to the murders of the reporters and journalists. Today we talk about a documentary that chronicles the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
THE DOCUMENTARY
The documentary is being screened after 2 years of Jamal’s murder. Directed by Rick Rowely the documentary has been named as ‘Kingdom of Silence’.
The documentary looks at the murder in detail, explaining the cause of the murder, it’s planning, the investigation, and also the US-Saudi relations during that time. Jamal was a journalist at the WaPo newspaper.
The voice-over for Jamal has been done by Nasser Faris. The documentary will premiere on October 2, 2020, at the Showtime at 9 pm.
