Mythic Quest Season 2 New Release Date with Cast and Plot Details

What if the group of sociopaths known as “The Gang” from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia started their own video game studio? Well, it’d probably fail miserably, but if they were at all capable, you’d probably end up with something similar to Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet.

Season 1 of Mythic Quest follows Ian Grimm (McElhenney), the creator of one of the most popular MMORPGs on the planet — Mythic Quest. It was created by Always Sunny stars Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, as well as writer and executive producer Megan Ganz.

Around the time his company releases Raven’s Banquet, an expansion kit, he often runs into problems, usually with his lead engineer, Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao), who has had enough of her boss’ egomaniacal ways. The show has received widespread acclaim so far, thanks to its first season and its excellent quarantine chapter, so it would be an understatement to say that excitement for season 2 is large.

Thankfully, you won’t have to wait quite as long as it took to get Cyberpunk 2077 on Apple TV+ before you can watch new episodes of Mythic Quest.

When will the second season of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet be released?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, Mythic Quest, like most other television shows in 2020, had to postpone shooting season 2. Even after the cameras could start rolling again, the cast and crew were hit by two separate coronavirus outbreaks, with several members of the cast and crew testing positive (via Variety).

It’s only been a little over a year since the first season aired, and the series doesn’t seem to be ignoring any of the craziness that has occurred in that time. “I miss remote working,” says one of the characters in the trailer, so it’ll be fascinating to see how much of the pandemic really figures into the storey or whether it’s only used for one-off gags.

Who will appear in season 2 of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet?

For its first season, Mythic Quest recruited a stellar comedy cast, and fans should expect to see all of the main characters return. David Hornsby, also known as Rickety Cricket, makes an appearance as uptight executive producer David Brittlesbee, and McElhenney isn’t the only Often Sunny alum making an appearance on the show. Danny Pudi (Community), Charlotte Nicdao (Thor: Ragnarok), F. Murray Abraham (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Ashly Burch (Critical Role), and Imani Hakim are among the other actors expected to return (Everybody Hates Chris).

The trailer also teases that at least one episode of the upcoming season will include a very special guest star. Snoop Dogg is seen wearing a motion capture suit in a brief clip, most likely for a character in the next expansion Ian and the team create. Snoop Dogg is no stranger to the video game industry, having lent his likeness to a number of titles over the years, including True Crime: Streets of LA and NHL 20. It seems that the show will pay homage to a side of the rapper’s career that many viewers might be unaware of.

What is the story of season 2 of Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet?

Ian promoted Poppy to co-creative director at the end of Season 1 of Mythic Quest. Although it gives her some of the attention she’s been seeking all season, it’s unlikely that their issues with one another will be resolved. This is illustrated in the teaser, which begins with the two attempting to figure out what the latest expansion pack should be about, with Ian leaving before they can make any progress.

Another intriguing topic arises as a result of this. Season 1 of Mythic Quest was dubbed “Raven’s Banquet” because it was the title of the show’s newest project. Is it likely that season 2 of Mythic Quest would have something new to add to the title if they release another expansion pack? A whiteboard with different names appears in the trailer at one stage, and it appears that “Sea of Nails” won out, but that may just be a red herring.

Whatever the title of the next season is, you can guarantee that a lot of people would tune in to see more video game shenanigans. For the time being, you know where you’ll be on May 7: on your sofa, watching Mythic Quest.
