Netflix could be developing an Elder Scrolls series.
The Elder Scrolls video games could have their television series on Netflix in true The Witcher style.
Following the success of the adaptation of The Witcher starring Henry Cavill, Netflix has proven capable of adapting video games to perfection. While it is true that the series is more like Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, the Elder Scrolls show would be primarily a game-based adaptation.
Bethesda began its flagship role-playing video game series in 1994 with The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Since then, the studio has developed and published four more main entries: Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, as well as a number of spin-offs, such as the MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. So there is a huge fanbase of this magical world who are sure to want to see it in real action on Netflix.
Bethesda wants to take advantage of the impact of streaming platforms
The video game company Bethesda knows that if there is an Elder Scrolls series on Netflix, its popularity will multiply to unsuspected limits, which will come in handy when they release Elder Scrolls VI. They are also working on another adaptation of your property of yours. Since Amazon will make a series of Fallout.
So Netflix will continue to bet heavily on video games since it has a very interesting young audience behind its platform. That is why it is normal that there is a series of The Witcher, Castlevania, as well as Assassin’s Creed in live-action that was announced recently.
Another video game that will make the leap to a platform would be The Last of Us, which will come to HBO and will be from the creators of Chernobyl. This means that probably more games will be adapted to Netflix and the rest of the streaming services.
