Nick Fury Series To Kick Off Production Next Summer

The Nick Fury spin-off would begin filming next summer.

Marvel Studios is preparing a Nick Fury spin-off and everything indicates that the Disney + series would start its filming in summer 2021.

With the launch of Disney +, Marvel Studios has found the perfect way to expand its universe. In recent years they had premiered Marvel series on Netflix such as Daredevil or Jessica Jones. Of more directly with their universe, Marvel developed SHIELD agents and Agent Carter with ABC. These had the return of characters already introduced in the MCU such as agent Coulson or Peggy Carter. But the Disney + premieres will go a step further. One of them will be the spin-off of Nick Fury and it would already be known when the filming will begin.

According to Murphy’s Multiverse, Marvel Studios would have planned to start filming Nick Fury shortly after those of She-Hulk and Moon Knight. It was recently reported that these series would begin production in March. So it is believed that the Nick Fury spin-off will not take long and will start filming in mid-2021. With Marvel productions fairly followed one after the other, it is possible that the information is true.

For its part, the plot of the Nick Fury spin-off is not known or what stage of his life it will focus on. But it is known that Samuel L. Jackson would bring the character to life again in this project. The news was released in September by Variety who also reported that screenwriter Kyle Bradstreet would write the series. Bradstreet is best known for his work on Mr. Robot.

The truth is that Nick Fury is one of the characters who have been in the MCU the longest. Since his appearance in the post-credits scene of Iron Man in which he introduces him to the Avengers initiative. Even the post-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Fury disappeared from the MCU with the fall of SHIELD. As Kevin Feige revealed last year, Samuel L. Jackson was quite frustrated by this. So he asked the studio to give more importance to his character. After this, it was announced that he would have an important role in Captain Marvel and now that a Disney + series will be developed.

“Sam was quite funny at the panel discussion we had. We talked about how it had disappeared for a while. He appears in Avengers: Age of Ultron but not in Captain America: Civil War. And for a while, he hadn’t appeared in any movies. I remember meeting him two years ago and saying, ‘I know it’s been a while, Sam. Here is our plan. 2019 will be the year of Nick Fury. And we introduce him to a younger, two-eyed Fury in Captain Marvel. After that Endgame shot. And the appearance in Spider-Man ”.

At the moment it is unknown when the Nick Fury series will be released. This project adds to the long list of series of the next phases of Marvel. The first to be released and that will also begin phase 4 is that of Wandavision. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier continued filming and Loki would continue in production. For her part, Ms. Marvel is already being recorded and the first images have been leaked. Hawkeye would begin filming after Thanksgiving.

Wandavision premieres on Disney + on January 11, 2021.
