The actors, known for their participation in ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’, will star in the film ‘Against The Ice’.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (born 27 July 1970) is a Danish actor and producer. He graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen in 1993. Whereas, Joseph Michael Cole (born 28 November 1988) is an English actor from Kingston, London. He starred in a night show on the West End, on The Bill and Holby City, and then a Bush Theater sell-out School Season. Cole has also written a comedy series with Matt Lucas. He played John Shelby in the British historical crime drama Peaky Blinders.
After going through two of the most successful series of recent years, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ( ‘Game of Thrones’ ) and Joe Cole ( ‘Peaky Blinders’ ) will star on Netflix in the film ‘Against The Ice’, directed by Peter Flint. The film, one of the premieres announced by the platform for this year, is based on the Danish novel ‘Two Against Ice’, which has been adapted by Coster-Waldau himself, who also serves as producer, along with Joe Derrick.
Set in 1909, it tells the story of Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Coster-Waldau), who sets out on a mission to prove that Greenland is not divided into two pieces of land. The inexperienced Iver Iversen (Cole) will accompany you on your journey, ending on foot across the ice.
Nikolaj, who is currently filming the drama “Smagen At Sult,” directed by Christoffer Boe, says the story caught his attention since he discovered it. “This project has fascinated me from the beginning. It combines many of the things I like: adventure, Greenland, companionship, loyalty, and love. It portrays the coexistence of two opposing men trapped in an epic and dangerous scenario, ”he told Deadline.
Rounding out the cast of the film, for which a release date has not yet been announced, are Charles Dance and Heida Reed.
