Keira Knightley and a slew of outstanding performers set out to answer the question in ‘Silent Night,’ a dark comedy in which a family gathers with their friends only to learn that this is their final holiday.
‘Silent Night’ made its international premiere earlier this year at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, where it drew mixed reviews from reviewers. The picture has a Metacritic score of 54 out of 100 based on 8 reviews, and the apocalyptic comedy-horror is one of the most anticipated holiday films. And here are five things you should know about it ahead of time:
Release Date and who will be starring?
The film is set to be released in the United States on December 3, 2021. Keira Knightley plays Nell in the film, which also includes Roman Griffin Davis as Art and Matthew Goode as Simon. Annabelle Wallis plays Sandra, Lily-Rose Depp plays Sophie, Kirby Howell-Baptiste plays Alex, Sope Dirisu plays James, Rufus Jones plays Tony, and Lucy Punch plays Bella.
According to the official plot summary: “Nell, Simon, and their son Art are excited to host friends and family for what promises to be a wonderful Christmas celebration. Except for one flaw: everyone is going to die.”
The plot focuses on a couple, Nell (Knightley) and Simon (Goode), who ask their closest friends to join their family for what seems to be a fun-filled Christmas, but there is an approaching dread creeping in and mankind is poised to end, but not before a dark and macabre comedy of errors.
