According to the latest rumors, Jake Gyllenhaal’s stunt double has been spotted on the set of Spider-Man 3, possibly indicating that the actor is ready to return as Quentin Beck / Mystery in the new installment of the wall-crawler
Spider-Man: Far From Home ended with Mystery revealing the wall-crawler’s secret identity to the world and accusing Spidey of both the attack on London and his murder. It appears that Quentin Beck shot that video shortly before he died, but fans have been speculating ever since that the villain may have continued to live. Today some photos have appeared on social networks that suggest that Jake Gyllenhaal’s double has been seen on the set of Spider-Man 3 in Atlanta, Georgia. Will Mystery return?
His involvement in Spider-Man 3 would have made a lot more sense if he had truly belonged to the Multiverse, but maybe everything he said about having a grudge against Tony Stark was a lie? His counterpart in the Ultimate comics traveled between worlds, so it is very possible that Mystery is the one who assembles a Multidimensional group of the sinister six to eliminate Peter Parker.
It would be kind of a missed opportunity not to make use of Beck again, but this third installment is getting more and more crowded, and the more we learn we hear from it, the more confused we get!
