After the Empire fell and the Emperor died in Star Wars, protocols were activated to begin Operation Ash.
Attention SPOILERS of The Mandalorian, the spectacular Star Wars and Disney + series that has just released its new episode entitled The Believer. In this chapter, there is a conversation between Mayfield (Bill Burr), The Helmetless Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), and the imperial officer Valin Hess (Richard Brake). Here Operation Ash is mentioned and we are going to explain what it is about.
These are the words with which The Emperor started Operation Ash after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
“Operation Ash is about to begin. Resistance. Rebellion. Challenge. They are ideas that should not last. You are one of the many tools that will help to incinerate them ”.
What is Operation Ash?
After the Battle of Endor, the remaining Imperial officers were ordered to use their weapons to devastate different planets that were under the control of the Empire so that it would not be known what plans they were carrying out. Some of the planets in the Star Wars galaxy, such as Naboo, Vardos, Burnin Konn (planet mentioned in The Mandalorian), Candovant, Abednego, and Commenor, were attacked. After these battles, the remnants of the Empire marched beyond the outer edge into the unknown regions to continue their plan. After many years they returned with a large fleet called the First Order that attacked the New Republic. His goal was to get Emperor Palpatine and the Sith could once again rule them all. But luckily Rey (Daisy Ridley) got in the way.
So we can see how the Mandalorian series is covering some gaps that the Star Wars movies have left. In addition, Operation Ash is also mentioned in the Battlefront 2 video game.
