Now that we know who will be the great villain of Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), we can verify his connection with Venom.
Marvel Studios often changes the origin of some little-known characters to better fit their films. But now we know that Gorr will be the great villain of Thor: Love and Thunder and that puts this new installment of the MCU directly related to Venom.
When it was confirmed that Christian Bale would appear in Thor: Love and Thunder, it was immediately speculated that he could play two characters such as Beta Ray Bill or Gorr, the butcher of the gods. Now I know we already know that the latter will be the one we will see in the fourth installment of the God of Thunder. This means that Thor will have a very powerful villain in front of him with a weapon capable of killing him.
Wielding All-Black, Gorr has a host of powers including superhuman physical abilities, regeneration, and near-immortality. But the most important thing here is the origin of the sword since it is related to Venom.
Knull is the progenitor of the Klyntar. A race of shape-shifting, amorphous parasites that can fuse with other life forms to possess or corrupt in any way, bending their hosts at will. They are better known as symbiotes, of which Venom is the most prominent in Marvel stories. All-Black was the first symbiote, formed from Knull’s own shadow that was cast by the first light of creation and then tempered with the power of a slain Celestial.
It will be difficult for Thor: Love and Thunder to show the symbiotes, as their film rights depend on SONY. But it is clear that if you want to create a Spider-Verso, at the end Venom will join the Peter Parker of Tom Holland. So there may be more references to your home planet or origin in the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe.
Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere on May 6, 2022.
