Warner Bros continues to expand its DC universe, The Flash will bring back Ezra Miller and it is already known when filming will begin.
Warner Bros has big plans for its DC Extended Universe. Wonder Woman 1984 is the latest addition to this universe but there are already another series of projects in development. The production company has announced numerous titles that will be released in the coming years. Among them the second installment of Shazam! , Black Adam and The Flash movie. After his appearance in the Justice League and on the CW series, Ezra Miller will change into the suit to give life to Barry Allen.
The production had to move its schedule and push back the premiere date due to the pandemic. But they already know when the recordings will begin. A new Backstage report ensures that The Flash movie will begin filming in April 2021. With this date, the study would ensure plenty of time for the occasional unforeseen event. Following the Warner Bros schedule change, The Flash is expected to hit theaters in November 2022.
The team will move to Warner Bros studios in Leavesden, located outside of Hertfordshire, the UK at the beginning of the year. Much of the production and filming will take place here. Andy Muschietti, director of the two installments of It, will be in charge of directing the film. Christina Hodson joins the team as a screenwriter, she already has experience with the studio after her participation in the script of Birds of Prey.
At the moment the details of the plot are unknown. But everything indicates that DC is ready to explore its own multiverse on the big screen. The Flash (2022) would explore the Flashpoint line of comics and feature the appearance of another member of the Justice League. Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton would play their respective Batman to spin the multiverses in the cinema. Andy Muchietti commented in an interview with Vanity Fair that the appearance of Ben Affleck’s Batman was central to the plot of his film.
“He is the baseline. He’s part of that unaltered state before we can jump into Barry’s adventure. There is a familiarity there. This film is a kind of hinge, in the sense that it presents a story that involves a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we have seen before are valid. It is inclusive since it is saying that everything you have seen exists, everything you are going to see exists, in the same unified universe ”.
We won’t have to wait long to see Ezra Miller in The Flash costume again. In early 2021, Zack Snyder debuts his Justice League court. The DC movie event that will finally bring the director’s vision to the audience. The director has shot new scenes and has the support of the stars. The Snyder Cut opens in March 2021. The Flash opens on November 4, 2022.
