Mark Hamill and the director of the last chapter of ‘The Mandalorian’, Peyton Reed, have had a nice exchange on Twitter talking about that great final moment of ‘The Mandalorian’. You already know which one (if the end of the series has been seen, of course).
We refer to the reappearance of Luke Skywalker himself in the Disney + series. Reed, who also directed Ant-Man Movies, first thanked the actor for portraying the star and character. Put this last Friday:
” Dear Mark Hamill, as a child, this picture hung on my bedroom wall. Star Wars, and Luke Skywalker, in particular, meant a lot to me. Some things never change. It was an honor and a dream come true working with you on The Mandalorian. Thank you. May the Force be with you. “
Hamil thanked Reed again with a nice message. ” Dear Peyton Reed, I am very grateful to have had the unexpected opportunity to reprise my character when I was still a symbol of hope and optimism. Your assured direction and kindness were a crucial element of inexperience and they mean more to me than I can say. Thanks to you “
The season 2 finale of ‘The Mandalorian’, which premiered in December, saw Luke himself make a surprise appearance just when all hope seemed lost.
At the end of the episode, a hooded Jedi arrived, a Republic X-Wing and a Jedi got off, responding to Grogu’s call. After getting rid of the enemy soldiers, he appeared before Din Djarin as Luke Skywalker, being Hamill himself but in a younger CG version. After this was over, Hamil tweeted to thank the host, Jon Favreau, and the screenwriter and executive producer, Dave Filoni, for showing up.
“Sometimes the best gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until they gave it to you. #ThankYouJonAndDave,” he posted.
