As a kid, Romi would hardly take out some time to watch films, she would only enjoy one or two here and there. Romi was sitting in one corner of her balcony basking in the sun and thinking of all those movies which she watched when she was a child and the left her bizarre, she would never link what was actually happening.
She started thinking of how the boat scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory messed up her thoughts it was not much later, when the Moonwalker tinkled in her brain cell.
She started jotting down in her mind, five things that really scared her while she watched the movie and those still do not find any close. They legitimately did mess her up as a kid. And while growing up, there were a lot of things connected to the Moonwalker that Romi did not realize even to this day.
Here, she gives us an account of all those things that didn’t make sense.
For her, Moonwalker was the movie that was too weird to be real. In the Moonwalker, Romi dreamt of those clay figures that kept on chasing Michal Jackson, and the latter turning in to a robot. It seemed more like a dream.
Secondly, there were many segments in this movie which actually became music videos, “Man in the Mirror”, “Speed Demon”, “Leave Me alone”, “Smooth Criminal” all seemed to be musicals more than movie parts.
Moreover, Romi couldn’t accept the film because of her Video game version of the moonwalker, and it was fun playing the game. But then when the movie premiered, Romi really couldn’t connect the French-coat wearing bad guy with the movie’s protagonist.
Romi never thought that her beloved game would really have a movie based on it. Also, there was a fear growing up on Joe Pesci and the reason of why it was so is still not known.
And lastly, as a child, the concept of Kidnappers and ‘being-kidnapped’ took away Romi’s breath and the movie helped in stimulating this fear all the more. Certain episodes gave her immerse anxiety too. Moreover, Robot Michael Jackson had proved to be a nightmare.
Thus, all of these had a deadening effect on Romi’s little mind. Are these not scary enough for a little human being?
What do you all say?
