Every time we know more details about Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth installment of the God of Thunder from Marvel Studios.

After they confirmed that Christian Bale will play Gorr, the butcher of the gods in Thor: Love and Thunder. Now it has been revealed that another character who was in the first two installments of the saga will return.

Despite being important in Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013), actress Jaimie Alexander has not been seen again in the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe. But her character Lady Sif will return to Thor: Love and Thunder. Luckily, she was left out of Ragnarok (2017), as the rest of the Thunder God friends died in that movie at the hands of Hela (Cate Blanchett). However, with the completion of the Blindspot series, the actress is now free to reprise her role as an Asgardian warrior in the new installment directed by Taika Waititi.

According to the new information, Jaimie Alexander will return as Sif alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, also known as Mighty Thor, in the franchise’s fourth entry. Not only that, but she also appears as a guest on the show Loki of Disney +.

The last time we saw the character was 5 years ago.

Her last appearance in a Marvel Studios movie was in 2013’s Thor: The Dark World, but Jaimie Alexander had a couple of appearances in various episodes of Agents of SHIELD in 2014 and 2015. No on-screen explanation was given about the Sif’s absence from Ragnarok, though Kevin Feige suggested that Loki had banished her from Asgard when she was posing as Odin. Something that probably saved his life and that would be nice if they explained in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Of course, this news comes immediately after the announcement that Christian Bale will play the villain of Thor: Love and Thunder named Gorr, the butcher of gods. His role in the film had been theorized for months, but his character’s identity was finally revealed at the Disney Investor’s Day event this Thursday. Yesterday we also received the first preview of Loki, which will be a real serial madness.
