Quick Pick up:
- New images from the filming of ‘Avatar 2’.
- The biological laboratory set is shown.
- ‘Avatar 2’ will finally premiere in December 2022.
‘Titanic’ (James Cameron, 1997) snatched ‘Jurassic Park’ (Steven Spielberg, 1993), the highest-grossing movie position in history after only four years of reign. The gigantic water accident managed to withstand the pull with its wild box office until the arrival of ‘Avatar’ (James Cameron, 2009), 12 years later.
The adventure in Pandora has remained unbeatable for a decade. Still, the superhero punch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has achieved what seemed impossible and, with 2.796 million dollars raised worldwide, only 6 million more than that of James Cameron,’ Avengers: Endgame ‘(Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, 2019) is now the biggest blockbuster ever. But will Avatar 2 beat Endgame’s record?
Just in case, the director of ‘Abyss’ (1989) is going to try and, to do so, he has decided to go big.
“Wide shot: our New Zealand-built high-tech biological lab set,” explains producer Jon Landau of the incredible setting. “Second Shot: Jim studied the set before filming. Greetings to the Kiwi team for their attention to the art of their constructions”.
For now, we have to wait until December 16, 2022, to discover what all that aquatic technology is for in ‘Avatar 2’ and, if all goes well, fans will be able to satisfy themselves later with ‘Avatar 3′ (2024),’ Avatar 4 ‘(2026) and’ Avatar 5 ‘(2028).
