Jared Leto signs for a Marvel trilogy
Actor Jared Leto will star in Morbius, but he will not stop there, since he has signed for two more films of the Marvel character and thus will complete the trilogy.
If 2020 had been a normal year, we would have seen the first Morbius film long ago, but now we will have to wait until 2021 for its theatrical release. If he is successful, he will start a trilogy where Jared Leto will be Marvel’s anti-hero vampire and could meet other important characters such as Venom or Spider-Man.
SONY currently has the film rights to Morbius, but they have reached an agreement with Marvel Studios to mix the Universes. So we can see the Vulture of Michael Keaton with the character of Jared Leto, something that we saw in the trailer and this will start a -verse spider where anything can happen.
The big movie studios are insuring talents.
The new information ensures that Jared Leto signed on for three films, something very common in Hollywood, which would not be a big surprise given that such long contracts are the standard for big blockbusters. Since right now with the great competition that there is against the streaming platforms, they all try to tie their stars with big contracts.
Also to make sure that Jared Leto is comfortable being Morbius and Marvel, Disney has also signed him for Tron, something that will leave him quite busy for him to play the Joker again in a DC Comics movie.
What is Morbius about?
Jared Leto will play the Marvel character Michael Morbius, he is a prestigious biochemist who aims to cure the disease in his blood. To do this, he experiments with bats and how he thinks he may die soon decides to inject himself with the serum he has created. At first, it seems that everything has gone well, but after a while, he begins to suffer a terrible lust for human blood that turns him into a vampire. So he must fight his impulses and find a new cure for his new state.
Morbius will premiere on March 19, 2021, and will feature a super cast led by Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, Tyrese Gibson, Michael Keaton, and Corey Johnson.
