Why does on Scream 3 have one killer?

The slasher franchise is one of the largest hits in the horror film genre. This franchise really took off with the release of the 1996 killer movie Scream. It went on to have three more sequels.

Much to the joy of the slasher fans, it was announced that the fifth Scream movie has been scheduled to be released by 2022.

The Scream movies are usually whodunits (a story or play about a murder in which the identity of the murderer is not revealed until the end) and have impeccable plots too. Usually, there are two murders responsible for all the crimes, as many times there are two tasks to be completed at the same time.

You can watch the trailer of the first movie here-

But this streak was broken in the third film. But when the fans were not happy with just having one killer, the tradition of having two murderers was resumed in the fourth movie.

Why was there only one killer?

Well, that’s because the head producers of the Dimension Films Harvey and Bob Weinstein were not happy with continuing the routine of having two serial killers. We are pretty sure that they’ve realised their mistakes by now. Having two murderers is always better!

The alternate plot with two killers

In the original scripts, Angelina Tyler (Emily Mortimer) the aspiring actress was supposed to be the co-killer and lover of Roman Bridger. She was even written as a highschool classmate of Sidney! She was supposed to be a secret admirer of Sidney, for all the attention she got. On the other hand, Angie was a nobody who most of her highschool classmates never knew existed, including Sidney.

I think we all collectively agree that the early scripts were much more interesting and lets hope the upcoming film lives up to our expectations!
