Zynga, The Creator Of Farmville Is All Set To Launch More And More NFT Games

Zynga, an American social game producer, plans to launch non-fungible token (NFT) games in the near future. “Where we want to get in,” said Zynga’s vice president of blockchain, Matt Wolf, in a media interview.

Words With Friends and Farmville Zynga, a game developer, has declared plans to enter the NFT sector.

On February 9, 2022, Axios reported that Zynga’s vice president of blockchain, Matt Wolf, claimed that the business intends to develop non-fungible token (NFT) games in the future.

Zynga Was Founded In 2007

Mark Pincus, Eric Schiermeyer, Justin Waldron, Michael Luxton, Steve Schoettler, and Andrew Trader launched Zynga in 2007. Zynga’s games, including Zynga Poker and Words with Friends, became extremely popular after Farmville debuted on Facebook in 2009.

Axios journalist Stephen Totilo spoke with Wolf about the company’s NFT gaming objectives. According to Wolf, Zynga intends to have a staff of 70-100 individuals working on blockchain technology by the end of the year.

According to Zynga’s vice president of blockchain, senior staff, including “tokenomics designers,” are being recruited by the company’s blockchain “studio.” According to Wolf, Zynga is presently debating whether or not to develop an NFT game, although he did not provide a release date.

Wolf Observed That Everything Is A Little Bubbly Right Now

We’re evaluating where to enter now that the cycle has been examined, but we’ve already sent out feelers.

Wolf reminded Totilo that following the deployment of NFTs by gaming firms such as EA and Ubisoft, NFT-centric components in Zynga games will be optional. Zynga’s initial strategy is to target folks who are already familiar with the NFT ecosystem and are interested in blockchain.

Take-Two Interactive aims to acquire Zynga. As previously noted, Zynga, like EA and Ubisoft, is lagging behind in the NFT sector.

Square Enix and Konami, two well-known video game companies, have lately entered the NFT sector. To make matters worse, Axie Infinity, a blockchain video game with $4.1 billion in NFT revenues since 2017, is a threat.

Because of Zynga’s potential acquisition, it’s unclear when the company will enter the blockchain gaming sector. Take-Two Interactive, located in New York, has announced plans to purchase Zynga for $12.7 billion.
