Our principles at a glance
Everything below comes down to four commitments:
Independent
Coverage decisions belong to the editorial team — never to advertisers or partners.
Transparent
We disclose how we work, where data comes from, and when a link is commercial.
Accurate
Facts are sourced and checked; what we can't verify, we leave out.
Reader-first
No hype, no manufactured urgency, no implied guarantees — your interests come first.
Editorial independence
Our coverage decisions belong to the editorial team alone. Advertisers, affiliate partners, exchanges, brokerages and token projects have no say over what we publish, how we rank or describe an asset, or how our live data is presented. We never accept payment to cover, promote or favour any cryptocurrency or security.
Conflicts of interest & personal trading
People who work on Market Capitalize may personally own cryptocurrencies or stocks. To stop that from biasing our work, we hold ourselves to clear rules:
- No one writes about a specific asset in a way intended to benefit their own position.
- We avoid short-term trading around anything we are actively publishing about.
- Where a personal holding is materially relevant to a piece, it is disclosed.
- We do not accept gifts, paid trips or other inducements that could compromise independence.
Advertising & sponsorship
We may run advertising or sponsored placements to fund the site. When we do, it is clearly labelled and visually distinct from editorial content. Buying an ad does not buy coverage, a review, a ranking or a kind word. See our advertising page for how we keep the two separate.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links may be affiliate links that earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes which products we mention or how we describe them. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Accuracy & sourcing
We attribute data to the providers named in our methodology, separate fact from interpretation, and label hypotheticals as assumptions rather than predictions. When we cannot verify a live figure, we leave it out. We correct errors openly under our corrections policy.
Transparency about technology
We are open about using software to assemble market data and AI tools to help draft content, always with human editorial review. We never publish fabricated authors or unreviewed automated output. The detail is in our editorial guidelines.
Putting readers first
Because our subject is money, the stakes for readers are real. We will not hype assets, manufacture urgency, or imply guaranteed returns to drive clicks or commissions. Our job is to inform decisions, with appropriate caution and the disclaimers our disclaimer sets out — not to make those decisions for you.
Frequently asked questions
Can a company pay to be covered or ranked higher?
No. We never accept payment to cover, promote or favour any cryptocurrency or security, and advertising buys no influence over editorial coverage, rankings or data.
Do Market Capitalize staff own crypto or stocks?
They may. To prevent bias, no one writes about an asset to benefit their own position, short-term trading around active coverage is avoided, and materially relevant holdings are disclosed.
How do affiliate links affect what you recommend?
They do not. A link earning a commission never changes which products we mention or how we describe them. Full detail is in our affiliate disclosure.
Raising a concern
If you believe we have fallen short of these standards, tell us at editor@marketcapitalize.com. We take ethics complaints seriously and will respond.
